Dame Jenny Shipley is appealing the award of $6 million in damages against her following the collapse of construction company Mainzeal. The liquidators of Mainzeal have filed a cross-appeal seeking greater damages against former prime minister Dame Jenny Shipley and her fellow Mainzeal directors. Shipley has appealed the $6 million damages awarded against her by the High Court following the collapse of construction company Mainzeal. Liquidator Andrew Bethell from BDO said the cross-appeals against the directors would challenge the $36m order for contribution awarded by the High Court. However, the High Court applied a discount of two-thirds to the starting point for contribution.
