ALOR SETAR: The tender for the High-Speed Rail (HSR) project linking Kuala Lumpur to Singapore is expected to be called within a year, said Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai. He said the ministry was looking forward to the signing of the memorandum of understanding for the HSR on Tuesday. The fast-speed train link will cut travelling time between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur to 90 minutes, compared with more than four hours by car. On another matter, Liow said he was concerned over the high number of accidents recorded during the 15-day Ops Selamat this year. “Once the signing is done, the authorities will prepare the tender documents.
