The Transport Minister said several interested parties had submitted tenders for the project ahead of the deadline by the end of next month. The Land Public Transport Commission opened the tender in January with the project implementation scope to include comprehensive planning, design, finance, construction, operation, maintenance and upgrade of the KL-Klang BRT project. “The project will contribute to easing traffic congestion on the highway and improving land transport connectivity,” he said. He added that with projects such as the KL-Klang BRT, the ministry was expecting 1.3 million public transport ridership daily in the Greater Klang Valley. “We believe with the launch of the LRT extension lines and MRT, there will be tremendous growth of reliability in public transport,” he said.
