"The forest department had summoned Jadeja to record his statement after the incident, but according to official sources, Jadeja never went to Sasan or Jungadh to give his statement. Jadeja even refused to answer whether or not the RFO had stopped him from getting off the vehicle. Such boards have also been put up at the welcome centre at Sinh Sadan and at the entry gates of the sanctuary. The permit for tourists to enter the sanctuary clearly mentions that one should not throw anything in the forest, nor should they get down from the jeep. The officials recorded his statement over the phone, the sources said.Jadeja pleaded ignorance of the laws and said that he was not aware that it was an offence to get off from the jeep and move the sanctuary taking pictures.
