At least four people have been killed and five others injured by lightning strikes in different areas of Jamalpur and Kurigram. Our Jamalpur correspondent reported that two people were killed in separate lightning strikes in district’s Dewanganj upazila around 2pm on Friday. In Kurigram, two more people were killed while five others were reportedly injured by lightning strikes in two upazilas in the district on Friday. Another deceased Taslima Akter was a class-six student at Askarnagar High School. Two housewives were reportedly injured in Nageshwari’s Santoshpur union.
