Nine people, including a schoolgirl, were killed in separate incidents of lightning strikes in Sunamganj, Sherpur, Habiganj, and Moulvibazar districts on Monday. Abdur Rahim, a farmer of Halgara village under Sadar upazila, was killed in another lightning strike while cutting paddy around 10:45am. In Moulvibazar, two people were killed and two others injured in separate incidents of lightning strikes in Sadar and Sreemangal upazilas of the district. On the other hand, 22-year-old Mofiz Mia was killed and his brother injured in lightning strike while fishing in Sreemangal upazila. Rofiq Mia, 15, was injured in another lightning strike while cutting grass in the area.
