Swimmers should think twice before going for a splash, as lifeguards may need to conduct risk assessments before carrying out rescue operations in view of the pandemic. The Lifeguards Union said some of their colleagues had conducted rescues despite their duties being temporarily suspended because people kept going out to swim. A union spokesman said lifeguards were putting their own health at risk during such operations. He urged lifeguards to conduct risk assessments before rescue operations and added that citizens should wear masks both indoors and outdoors. The spokesman also slammed the government's inadequate education on social distancing, leading citizens to let down their guard.
