Governing party MP, Dr. Wijedasa Rajapakshe today (16) claimed that he had received a telephone call this morning from the President that was threatening and demeaning. He made this observation at a press conference today (16). The MP stated that he was expecting the call to be a discussion with regard to the matters he raised relating to the Port City Economic Commission Bill at a media briefing yesterday (15). The MP also stated that these threats should be taken seriously and that he fears for the lives of himself and his family members. Yesterday (15), Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe criticised the Port City Economic Commission Bill, claiming that the bill directly threatens the nation’s sovereignty.
