'Life has only just begun' for Teesside veteran preparing to climb North Africa's highest mountain

The war veteran from Marton, in Middlesbrough, has set his sights on climbing the highest mountain in North Africa. The charity climb was due to take place in 2020, but the pandemic caused delays to the venture. More than a decade on, James is taking on a 4,167m climb to the summit of Mount Toubkal in Morocco, to raise money for the military charities. The 34 year-old became the first double amputee - above the knee - to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and secured medals at the Invictus games. James says he is raring to go after the climb was delayed for almost two years.
