Nicola Mitchell, founder and chief executive of Irish agrochemicals company Life Scientific, has scooped this year’s overall EY Entrepreneur of the Year award. Ms Mitchell received the prestigious EY Entrepreneur of the Year award at a virtual ceremony on Thursday night, attended by an audience of more than 2,000 people. In addition to being selected as the overall winner, Ms Mitchell also won the best international entrepreneur category at the awards. Ms Mitchell is only the second woman to win the overall Entrepreneur of the Year award. Previous winners of the overall award include Aidan Heavey, Padraig O’Ceidigh, Liam Casey, Richard Kennedy, Mark Roden and Brendan Mooney.
