more-inThe Chennai Corporation has roped in licensed surveyors and residents’ associations to help residents get regularisation of unapproved individual plots. “We have planned to rope in licensed surveyors and residents’ associations who will alert the owners. As many as 550 licensed surveyors are expected to play a key role in dissemination of information on regularisation of the unauthorised plots to owners. Licensed surveyors said the files were cleared quickly after Rajesh Lakhoni took charge as Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) member-secretary. Chennai Corporation officials said they have issued 1,839 building approvals of the 2,208 applications received online this year so far.
