Historically, the female spy on-screen has been something of an unattainable ideal: sexy, multi-tasking, still able to get dinner on the table after a hard day's graft. This year has been a particularly plum year for the spy genre already, and certainly for the female spy heroine. Elsewhere, Atomic Blonde, with Charlize Theron taking no prisoners, was well received as a stylish, hyper-violent riff on the spy genre.
