SALERNO - A Libyan middle school student chose to tell the story of her life as migrant for her year-end thesis. Najat is the firstborn of a family of migrants that arrived in Baronissi near Salerno though the Italian asylum seekers and refugee protection system (SPRAR). The girl, who holds Libyan nationality, has recently earned her middle school diploma - and was the first to do so among the 51 people who have been living for the past two years in the facilities in the Valle dell'Irno city. ''I would like to thank all the volunteers who work with the families,'' Baronissi mayor Gianfranco Valiante said. From the very beginning, with the SPRAR project, we gave priority to real cultural and civil integration of our guests and today the goal of a middle school diploma for the young Najat compensates for all the work done.''
