The appeal against Saif al-Islam Kadafi’s disqualification against the December 24 vote was postponed for several days as combatants blocked the court. In another case on Thursday, the Election Commission said armed men attacked five election centers in western Libya and stole ballot cards. Analysts are afraid that contested votes, or votes with obvious violations, can upset the peace process. Haftar, who is dominated by the Libyan National Army (LNA) in most of eastern and southern Libya, is himself a candidate for election.
