The Director of the Moral Guidance Department at the Libyan National Army confirmed to "Sky News Arabia" that Turkey has an interest in the continuing instability in Libya. Al-Mahjoub stressed "securing all areas of southern Libya," noting that there are attempts by mercenaries to destabilize the southern Libyan region. Earlier, the spokesman for the Libyan National Army, Ahmed Al-Mismari, said that LNA forces from the Sabha military region confronted subversive elements, as they managed to take control of their headquarters in the city. In a statement, the Libyan National Army confirmed that the Sabha region is under a state of security alert, following clashes with mercenaries belonging to the Government of National Accord (GNA) led by Fayez al-Sarraj.
