Chairman of Russian State Duma’s Foreign Affairs Committee, Leonid Slutskiy has said that the internal crisis in Libya needs a peaceful solution. He added that the deployment of Turkish forces could lead to a further deterioration of the situation in the country, considering the Turkish parliament’s decision to allow the government to send forces to Libya a matter of concern, as he put it. Slutskiy stressed that foreign intervention was not a preferable option for Libya, confirming that it is essential to continue the search for ways to settle the crisis through the mediation of the United Nations.
