The damage already done will take years to mend, and that’s only if the war is ended now. Tragically fighting broke out near Tripoli and rebel forces led by a powerful warlord advanced on the capital. “Arms are pouring in again to all sides,” advised Salamé adding, “Without a robust enforcement mechanism, the arms embargo into Libya will become a cynical joke. Thus Libya’s instability is not localized but part of a wider North African storm rising.
