The Minister of Interior, Fathi Bashaga, received on Saturday, the Turkish Defence Minister, Hulusi Akar, and his accompanying delegation, at the Security Operations HQ, in Tajoura district, east of Tripoli. The two parties held a meeting in the presence of several officials from both sides to discuss issues of common concern. Turkish Defence Minister said that his government is doing its utmost to bring peace and security to Libya, stressing that the Libyan file is a top priority for Ankara. "Turkey is striving to see Libyans enjoy democracy, under one flag and one government, and this can only be achieved, through national reconciliation," the Interior Ministry's information office quoted the Turkish Defence Minister as saying. "Libya strives to work with Turkey, according to the principles of mutual respect and in areas of shared interest," Bashaga said, vowing to stand up to all conspiracies, which seek to destroy the social fabric in Libya.
