Sierra Leonans has turned out to vote in a mostly calm and peaceful atmosphere, amid delays and unstamped ballot papers. Citizens interviewed at some polling centers complained about the slow pace of the voting process, which they claimed should have started at 7am, but began at 10am. "Since 5am we came here but we noticed that ballot boxes were not available," said Sheik Umar, All People's Congress (APC), party agent at the Moa Whaif, Open Space voting center. So far there have not been any incidents of violence reported, but commercial centers are closed. Some complain that their names, and pictures have not been found to allow them to vote.
