Liberia Revenue Authority To License Customs Brokers Firms


Monrovia – The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) through its Professional Responsibility Section has concluded a day dialogue with Customs Brokerage firms across the country. The aimed of the meeting was to abreast existing and prospective clearing firms with the rules and requirements regarding the process of licensing Customs Broker Firms. Commissioner Saamoi said the role of customs clearing firms are cardinal to the growth and development of businesses engaged in importation. At the dialogue included seventy five (75) heads of clearing firms and the president of the National Customs Brokers Association of Liberia (NCBAL) Ivan Tumbay. This is the first time that the LRA is initiating the licensing of customs broker firms to boost revenue collections.
