The National Elections Commission (NEC) is calling on the Liberian media, political parties, religious groups and community organizations to join the Commission in spreading awareness about the voter registration process. Weedor said the NEC hopes that in the future and with the availability of the required infrastructure, resources and time, the Voter Registration System, will be upgraded to Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) as in the case of several electoral jurisdictions like Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, among others.
