OTTAWA–The federal Liberals are expected to tap entrepreneur Kevin Vuong to carry the party’s banner in Spadina—Fort York, the Star has learned. A relative newcomer to politics, Vuong mounted an unsuccessful bid to represent the riding municipally in 2018. “I welcome every opportunity to serve.”Vaughan’s announcement Monday that he would not seek re-election after 15 years in politics put Spadina—Fort York back in play in the upcoming federal election, expected to be called later this month. A Liberal spokesperson refused to confirm Vuong will be the party’s candidate in Spadina—Fort York whenever an election is, in fact, called. “While we don’t comment on the specifics of individual nominations before they are completed, the nomination process for Spadina—Fort York is moving forward in line with all the party’s national nomination rules.”Read more about:
