Leyland founders can paint the town red after £82m sale

Leyland SDM, which has 21 shops across the capital, is to be sold for £82.4 million, delivering a fortune for its resolutely private founding family. Founded in the 1980s by Andrew Urban, Leyland SDM is run by his son of the same name. Companies House filings indicate that Leyland SDM is wholly owned by family members. It would appear that the Urban family are receiving the £82 million in full. Grafton said it is acquiring Leyland SDM on a debt-free, cash-free basis.
