Levin Courthouse to close for earthquake strengthening


The Levin courthouse will close in November because it needs earthquake strengthening work. Ministry of Justice chief operating officer Carl Crafar​ said on Monday the courthouse, which was opened in 2010 by then-Prime Minister Sir John Key, needs earthquake strengthening and will close from November 18. It was initially earmarked for strengthening work, albeit with the ministry saying it was not a priority, before an announcement in 2012 it would close permanently.
