Ontario Premier Katherine Wynne has used the same logic to justify her provincial carbon tax, which she says will “generate” $2.1 billion per year. If the market deemed carbon taxes an unalloyed good, then Saskatchewan would not be threatening a constitutional challenge. Now that she has lost control over her own party, the right thing for Green Party Leader Elizabeth May to do is to resign. Instead, carbon taxes are pushed mostly by left-wing governments, which should put to rest any thought that it has something to do with markets. That said, I doubt the leaders of Israel are losing much sleep over what Green Party Leader Elizabeth May’s colleagues are thinking.
