Those with 48 per cent support won and those with 52 per cent support lost. With proportional representation, all our elected MPs would represent close to 100% of votes cast. That is to say, all currently elected MPs combined received 8,410,806 votes, less than 48 per cent of the 17,552,402 votes cast. Losing candidates received more than 52 per cent of all votes cast. Although we don’t understand God’s ways, our Judeo-Christian God is supposed to be a loving God who both gives and takes away life.
