The logic of reducing the number of medical doctors in Canada when we need more is so boneheaded that only a social science PhD on tenure could promote itCharles Mac Leod, Red Deer, Alta. Imagine the fire fighter who refuses to attend a house fire because his personal conscience rejects the lifestyle of its occupants? Or a police officer whose personal conscience permits him to stand aside and watch someone of a different religion or race being assaulted because he does not approve of them? Canadian medical personnel must comply with Canadian law or find some other profession in which they can assuage their personal consciences.
