Letters: Money is destroying college traditions and rivalries


The conclusion of Bill Plashke’s column is the lack of opportunities for Latino women soccer players. Also, there is a failure to recognize that playing World Cup tournaments is a young people’s game. In the Brazilian men’s team, players rarely take part in more than one World Cup cycle and they have won as many as any other country. The ironic thing is that our men’s team adopted the tactics that the women have to follow. From my experience, I don’t think they think women can handle it, or maybe it’s because of the choices they make.
