MetroWest Daily NewsWe may not want to live in the past, but it's nice to remember it. At the professional level today, with few exceptions, it's like Whiffle Ball. Meanwhile, baseball at the high school level now resembles "bashball" with most teams using the abominable aluminum bats, rather than playing the game the way it should be played - that is, with safer, more legitimate wooden bats. Also, some of these high school baseball teams mimic the pros who disrespect our flag by failing to play our national anthem before the ballgame and, then, play distracting, disturbing, and deafening, walk-up disco noise during the game. We may not be able to bring back the "Good Old Days," but we can bring back the "Grand Old Game" of baseball to its glory days, both at the amateur and professional levels, by correcting the gross errors and manipulations currently found at every level of today's game.
