MetroWest Daily NewsSuperintendent Tremblay suggested in a recent piece (MDN, Sept. 24) that our children do better in their school work when we allow ourselves to be amazed by the wonder of what they’re learning. When we focus less on standardized MCAS measures and the like especially from the pandemic-produced period that created such an extremely stressful learning environment, we open ourselves to this most enlivening aspect of our consciousness - learning. He describes the pursuit of education in its most sublime form; that is, as Horace Mann’s great equalizer. At its best, education puts equality within our grasp, though it’s up to us to reach out. Each of these educators envisions a thriving, learning environment and exhorts us to savor all that connects us in celebration of our shared, human nature.
