Big business in Ontario wants a cut of the legal pot business. That’s the message the Ontario Chamber of Commerce sent to Premier Kathleen Wynne in an open letter on Wednesday. Its members both want a chance to get in on the legal weed business and clearly don’t want a government-run monopoly like the LCBO to be the only source. And, the Chamber argues, cities need a say, both in whether they house production sites and where stores are located. The chamber also recommended any and all provincial revenues from legal weed be put back into mental health and addictions care and the quality of the buds being sold is strictly controlled.
