The Spanish flu was caused by the H1N1 virus and it claimed an approximated 17 to 50 million lives, about 3% of the world’s total population. Unlike the 1918 flu, we are lucky that the world has made technological milestones and people are no longer in the dark about such developments. For us, all we got to know about the Spanish flu was mainly in written material, other than in mentions here and there in movies and documentaries. In comparison to Spanish flu, we can bear the brunt of staying home and managing to get work done. Stay safe, stay at home.
