The names of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Kulsoom Nawaz, the wife of the disqualified PM, have been bought forward as the strongest contenders for the post. Albeit, unofficial, the party shall still remain under Nawaz’s political guidance and leadership. Hence, conclusively, even though the judicial verdict might have proven to be disapproving for him, it would do little to stop Nawaz Sharif from playing his leadership role in the party.
