Leslie Moonves, the longtime chief executive of CBS, is finalizing a deal to depart from the company he has led for 15 years, following a report on Sunday detailing new sexual harassment allegations against him. An announcement could come as soon as Monday, according to two people familiar with the negotiations who spoke on condition of anonymity because the discussions were ongoing and the terms could change. For several weeks, Mr. Moonves had been negotiating a settlement with CBS Corporation’s board directors that would end a protracted legal fight against the company’s controlling shareholder, Shari Redstone. The talks also included a potential payout that, while much less than the $184 million promised by his employment agreement, could still be as high as $100 million. In July, The New Yorker published an article in which six women made sexual harassment allegations against Mr. Moonves.
