Les Miles fired as LSU coach after 12 years and national championship

LSU fired their coach Les Miles on Sunday in a move that many had seen coming, despite the fact that he led the school to a national championship in 2007. Despite the mockery of Miles, he had great success at LSU going 134-34 in a 12-year reign. Not at a school that believes it should be in the national championship picture every year. Hebert once famously confronted Miles at a press conference following the 2011 title loss to Alabama, complaining about his play-calling. Defensive line coach Ed Orgeron (an interim head coach at USC in 2013) has been promoted to head coach, presumably for the rest of the season.
