The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emmanuel Nuquay, has disclosed that the Legislature is proposing the inclusion of the Liberian media in the National Budget beginning the 2017/2018 fiscal year to help with construct the headquarters of the Press Union of Liberia (PUL). Speaking at the opening of the 6th and final session of the 53rd Legislature at the Capitol Building on Monday, Nuquay said this move is intended to enhance media partnership and the vision of the legislature and the transformation agenda of Liberia. “The media can promote and damage the image of the country and scare away investors. This is why we are engaging the media in a partnership so that all of us can work together in moving our country forward,” Nuquay said. We are asking the media to do their duty with patriotism to ensure the country remains peaceful,” Nuquay noted.
