The opposition Left Front and Congress today demanded immediate deployment of army to control the situation at Baduria in North 24 Parganas district where communal clashes have broken out over an "objectionable" post on Facebook. "We demand all party meeting and army deployment. State Congress president Adhir Chowdhury said army should be immediately deployed in the area to avoid any untoward incident. Police here said "Clashes took place at Baduria since yesterday following an objectionable Facebook post by a youth who was arrested." Demonstration was held in front of the Baduria police station by the people of one community.
