KOTA KINABALU: Opposition Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) is urging a thorough probe into allegations of vote buying in the just concluded Sandakan parliamentary by-election. Describing vote buying as a mockery and a serious threat to democracy, PBS information chief Datuk Joniston Bangkuai (pic) said police must not leave any stone unturned in their investigation. He called on those with evidence of vote buying to not hesitate to provide information to the police to facilitate investigations. The Kiulu assemblyman also called on independent election monitoring body, Bersih 2.0, to initiate a probe into the matter. “As an independent election watchdog, we urge Bersih to include the claims of vote buying in their report to the Election Commission,” Bangkuai said.
