It wasn't exactly a dream come true moment for Anna Leat, when she received a bronze medal from Fifa president Gianni Infantino. But there she was, lining up behind her Young Football Ferns team-mates, receiving a bronze medal for finishing third at the Fifa Under-17 Women's World Cup after beating Canada 2-1 on Sunday (NZT). The promising shotstopper has already made three appearances for the Football Ferns and could have added to that tally had the tournament not clashed with her Under-17 commitments. Although the three-week journey is now over for the Young Football Ferns players, Leat will not be travelling back to Auckland with her team-mates.
