'Leaning pole left too long'

A power pole leaning over a Dunedin motorway was removed yesterday, following a complaint from a Dunedin woman. Jill Bray, of Sawyers Bay, said a wooden power pole on a corner of State Highway 88, near Blanket Bay, was on a lean. She called Delta and Aurora Energy two times each about her concerns in the past fortnight. The power lines were removed to take the loading off the top of the pole and make it safe. People concerned about damaged power poles should contact Aurora Energy immediately on 0800 22 00 05, he said.
