The Maple Leafs have a number of options now that top-line centre John Tavares is out for at least two weeks with a broken finger on his right hand. The 29-year-old, who was named captain on opening night, suffered the injury late in the third period of Thursday’s 4-3 loss in Washington. The Leafs said Tavares will be reassessed after two weeks. Tavares — coming off a career-high 47-goal season, his first in Toronto — is believed to have suffered the injury on a shot from teammate Morgan Rielly. Veteran Jason Spezza could move up to the Tavares line, with Marner and Ilya Mikheyev on the wings.
