So when the Boston Bruins play the Maple Leafs on Friday night at the Air Canada Centre, then Saturday night at TD Garden, the series might have a bit of a playoff feel. “It’s an opportunity to measure yourself against the same team both nights,” said Leafs defenceman Connor Carrick. It’s a bit of a test, a mock playoff, when you get the same group back-to-back. Each team is going to find out what works — or doesn’t — tonight, and that will be the message to work on tomorrow.”
