Paulino Salvador Leachon has been acquitted of graft by the Sandiganbayan Fourth Division in a promulgation held Wednesday afternoon. Meanwhile, the charge against their other co-accused, Ernesto Viñas, has already been dismissed in light of his death. During an ambush interview held after the promulgation, Leachon said he was “thankful” that he has now been “vindicated” because he had been suffering for the past 10 years because of the case. Leachon said his acquittal was worth more than anything, as it will now give him and his family peace of mind.
