On December 22, 2025, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed a decision to appoint Le Manh Hung - Chairman of the Members’ Council of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (now known as the National Industrial and Energy Group) - to serve as the acting Minister of Industry and Trade. Hung was born on October 24, 1973, in Hung Yen Province. He holds a degree in petrochemical organic technology, a PhD in petrochemical science, and has completed advanced political theory training. His appointment comes following a Politburo decision to assign Nguyen Hong Dien - Central Party Committee member and former Minister of Industry and Trade - as Deputy Party Secretary in charge of the Party Committee of the National Assembly. As of now, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is supported by four deputy ministers: Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, Phan Thi Thang, Truong Thanh Hoai, and Nguyen Hoang Long.
