Harold Niman was dragged into the middle of the acrimonious separation of Eleanor McCain and Jeff Melanson when her lawyers filed a motion to ban him. Tuesday, Judge Frances Kiteley ruled there’s no evidence Niman plans to use such information about McCain. McCain’s lawyers had said Niman obtained the information from Dr. Douglas Weir and the mediators involved with McCain’s divorce from Greg David. The psychiatrist also wrote 200 pages of notes containing personal information from his meetings with McCain which had been obtained by Niman, her lawyers said. Niman’s lawyers, Jonathan Lisus and Paul Michell, had argued McCain only wants Niman removed because she “fears” him.
