The incident of rape took place at the house of Shushil Chandra and his wife Shukni, both of whom were accused of assisting the rape in the abduction and rape case filed by the girl's father. According to locals, police, and the case statement, the lawyer Habib took the girl to local cobbler Shushil's house saying that he will take her to her father. Atwari police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ijaruddin said: "A case has been filed against three people including lawyer Habib over the rape after abduction. The accused Habib is currently in jail.
