Laws shouldn’t be made to hinder technology, elections – INEC


The Independent National Electoral Commission on Thursday said voter enrolment software would be introduced to recapture as much fingerprints as possible in the 2023 general elections. While emphasising that technology was evolving, the commission said the use of technology in the conduct of elections had come to stay. Speaking on the voter registration towards 2023 election, he said voter enrolment software would be introduced to recapture as much fingerprints as possible. The stakeholders, according to the chairman, were the voters, political parties and politicians, civil society organisations, the media, security agencies, INEC and its staff, among others. Also at the event, the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, asked the media to set agenda for a better tomorrow for Nigeria.
