House Bill 8884 granting senior citizens and persons with disabilities a 20 percent discount on travel tax hurdled second reading last Wednesday. HB 7030 proposes to protest senior citizens from physical, emotional, financial and psychological abuses. The bill provides that violations of its provisions shall be considered aggravating circumstances due to the vulnerability of senior citizens. Meanwhile, all other acts specified in the bill shall be penalized with imprisonment and a fine of P100,000 up to P300,000.
