Lawmakers’ Covid-19 Cases Prompt New Worries on Capitol Hill

WASHINGTON—New cases of coronavirus are popping up on Capitol Hill, prompting renewed calls for party leaders to roll out widespread testing and perform better contact tracing to protect lawmakers and staff. About 20 lawmakers have tested positive for Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic, but there has been a spate of new cases in the past week. Four lawmakers have come down with the virus in recent days, around the same time that President Trump tested positive and was subsequently hospitalized. Sen. Ron Johnson (R., Wis.) told home state media he may have contracted it from his chief of staff in Washington. Mr. Lamborn has told people that he doesn’t plan on getting tested himself, according to the person, who said the lawmaker traveled back to Colorado on Friday.
