The Bill will allow referendum to take place on the same day as the 2022 elections. The referendum in question is touted to bring the much needed constitutional change and allow our political system to become significantly more inclusive. A constitutional change will ensure that our country never again faces such domestic political instability. More important though, is what the referendum and subsequent constitutional change will say about the vibrancy of our democracy. Constitutional change must be seen as part of the natural progression of any democratic state.
